Active Shooter Response

Course Description

This course is designed to encourage students to adopt and develop effective strategies, as well as the proper mindset, to intelligently counter an Active Shooter. This course is designed for Law Enforcement, Military Security, Private Security, or those possessing a CWP who desire to be part of the solution. Students will study the history of the Active Shooter and develop an understanding of the motivations as well as methods of resolution. Students will acquire advanced handgun skills and will have the opportunity to develop their skills on a live fire range. Course consists of several hours in the classroom, free prepared lunch, and approximately 4 hours on the range. Course will conclude with several live fire high stress scenarios in which students will engage multiple targets using newly acquired skills.

  • Deterrence / avoidance / engagement
  • Combat mindset
  • Emergency and tactical reloading
  • Proper use of cover vs. concealment
  • Multiple target engagement
  • Precision target engagement
  • After action considerations

Course Prerequisites

Students must provide Law Enforcement, Military Security, Private Security credentials, a Valid CWP, or proof of training in the form of a “certificate of completion”.

Course Requirements:

  • Defensive handgun
  • Concealment holster
  • Concealment garments
  • 150 rounds target ammo
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Appropriate range attire
  • Bug spray/ sunscreen/ hat

Cost

$150.00, paid in full prior to class date. Class size is limited to 10 students. Seating is available on a first come, first come basis.
